During these quick changing and stressful times we may all need to check and review our growth mindset once in awhile. Stay strong, be kind and help one another. Here is my PE Growth mindset Chart

PE ACTIVITIES: Circus Unit

Warm Up

  • Grade K-2 Do 5 of each exercise.
  • Grade 3-4 do 10 of each exercise.
  • Grade 5-8 do 12-15 of each exercise.

Activity: Circus Unit. Lesson #1: Spend 10-15 minutes learning how to juggle. Practice, practice, practice. An intro video by TotallAdventure

Activity: Circus Unit. Lesson #2: Spend 10-15 minutes learning how to spin. Introduction video to things that spin by Totalladventure

  • Grade K-8: Do you have a yo-yo, hula hoop, plastic plate, spinning scarf, sock poi or something else that spins? Try hula hooping while spinning something in your hands.
  • Grade K-4: Learn Fun Circus skills with stuff at home
  • Grade 3-8. Learn POI skills: make your own sock poi (long sock, tennis ball or beanbag)
  • Poi Lesson 1

Activity: Circus Unit. Lesson #3: Spend 10-15 minutes learning how to use a variety of circus skills equipment. Variety of skills: pogo stick, stilts, hacky sack, jianzi, rolling objects, balancing objects on head/hands/fingers, balance a pool noodle on hand/head, balance a ball on a racket/plate or what else can you do?

Activity: Circus Unit. Lesson #4: Show time. Can you create a short circus performance for your family? Why not include the whole family in the circus show.

  • Introduction Video: Circus Show Time
  • The show should include 3-4 different tricks.
  • You can include family members or pets.
  • You can dress up for your show and add music.
  • You can include magic and acrobatic stunts.

COOL DOWN

Cooling+down+stretches

Relax for one minute (mindfulness-slowly breath in through your nose and out through your mouth).
